Ear Goo Welcomes Hollis Smith – Audio Engineer
May 4th, 2010Ear Goo is pleased to introduce its newest audio engineer: Hollis Smith, an audio heavy-hitter with an impressive background in advertising, network, and music production.
Built upon talent and experience, Hollis began his music career as a successful music producer in his hometown of Dallas, TX. When a passion for sound turned into professional growth, Hollis moved to New York City and entered the world of audio engineering.
From inside the legendary Electric Lady Studios (of Jimi Hendrix fame), Hollis created a name for himself as the go-to engineer for big name projects ranging from Bjork to Snoop Dogg and Missy Elliot to Moby. With his extensive background and savvy know-how, Hollis was recruited to work alongside famed audio engineer, Eddie Kramer, on a remastering project for the Hendrix Estate.
As a sought-after audio wunderkind, Hollis made a seamless transition into the world of advertising. His top-flight 5.1 Surround Mix skills and savvy sound design has been featured in many successful campaigns for AT&T, FedEx, Bank of America, Toyota, Hewlett-Packard, as well as TV spots for NBC, VH1, Animal Planet, TLC, and a web series for New Balance. Hollis’s client list also includes industry notables the likes of BBDO, Devito Verdi, Publicis, Arnold, Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R, Mother, Draft FCB, Grey, Digitas, DDB Canada, Cramer Krasselt, McClaren McAnn, Kaplan Thaler, Ludorum Productions, & Taxi.
Hollis’ most recent work includes the first season of “Chuggington,” a successful British children’s TV program from the producers of the hit TV series “Bob the Builder.” The new series currently airs in 165 countries throughout the world.
